***** ANIMATED GUIDES FOR EACH LETTER *****
This iOS app was written for anyone approaching Hebrew and its script. It provides a good guide for learners and an invaluable reference, with detailed information on all the letters of the Alef-Bet in both block and cursive type, as well as accurate animated images of how each letter should be drawn.
You can click on any letter or niqqud in the list to hear its pronunciation, as well as follow the pronunciation guide provided in the two reference tables.
The app is based on modern Hebrew as spoken in Israel, and it also offers notes on drawing and current usage. For the sake of completeness it features a list of the vowel diacritics: though not in current use, they can be of help for academic or religious studies.
Finally, just tap on any letter image (whether block or cursive) to watch the letter as it is being drawn...

Pros and cons of iScript Hebrew app for iPhone and iPad
iScript Hebrew app good for
I refer to it all the time during my studies of the language of the Most High!
I like the way the application shows me different print and script fonts, and teaches me correct pronunciation and writing order. Thank you.
Some bad moments
I just wanted to thank you for creating this wonderful app. Its inclusive of all that any one might need to master the Hebrew alphabet. It also included the vowel dots & directions for writing. Just amazing. Thank you so much.
My daughter is starting Jewish day school in the fall and she needs to know I how to write and recognize all the Hebrew letters. I wanted an interactive app for her to learn to write the letters. This is NOT interactive. It demonstrates the writing of each letter but doesnt let her practice. Should have spent my $3 on an old fashioned workbook.
Only the first page will open. Neither the Niqquid page not the help page will open, even after deletion and reinstallation of the app. A waste of money.
I am starting from zero so this is great for me. Not only does it draw the characters you can hear the name pronounced too. I am using it in conjunction with a written work book.
Thank you for the app, its a blessing to someone whos trying to learn.
This app looks like you can write the letters and it may have exercises. Not worth $3 for it. Thanks for having the cursive though.
